It's A Rainbow!

A lovely rainbow by Haikal. He was not feeling well on that day. He got fever and lost appetite. But he was such a good boy. He requested to have some medicine and a blanket before lying on the sofa. Now, he's fine and starts drawing again :-).

Haikal Loves Mama

A big love for me. Thank you Haikal! I love you too, three, four,.....five millions. Your drawing is awesome!

Illustration Friday- Sight

Standing on the chair in front of your classmates at a height of 0.5 m would give you a different view. Imagine if you are at the top of the world at the height of 8848 m. What a wonderful sight you might have!

A Book for My Kids

I have a dream. A dream to create an illustration book for Haikal and Anas. A book that illustrates everything they see and do everyday. A book that encourages them to be storytellers and developes their creative imaginations.

Yeay, finally! I managed to do it. My first book for my beloved kids.  http://www.pageflip-flap.com

Happy Teacher's Day!

When I was in primary school, Cikgu Shahabudin was well known as a serious and strict teacher.

I guessed he didn't really get my name but he recognized me as "Bawang Merah" (Red Onion). He even called me "Bawang Merah" and I was very happy with that name.

During physical education class, Cikgu Shahabudin asked us, boys and girls to hold each other's hands and formed a big round. He said, "Now you're still kids, I allow you, both boys and girls to hold each other's hands. But remember, once you become adults, this is prohibited!" (Haa, pegang tangan puas-puas. Dah besaq nanti jangan dok menggatai nak pegang-pegang pulak!)

I loved the way he explained the long jump technique. The skecthing was brilliant.

Cikgu Shahabudin passed away years back but I always remember you, my teacher!

To all teachers, Happy Teacher's Day!

Da Vinci Creative Kids

Haikal will turn 4 on 24 August 2012. His first class with Da Vinci Creative Kids was on 9 April 2012 where he learnt on how to draw a colourful ball. So far he has already attended five drawing lessons and I'm proud to say that his drawing skill is improving. I could see that he loves to play with colours.
Sketching and colouring all by Haikal without my observation.

Anas (the brother) admires Haikal's drawing very much, especially the smiling sun. Everytime Haikal comes back from the class, Anas will grab a pencil and start drawing too.
Anas was inspired by Haikal's drawing.

Anas choosing his favourite colour.
 Well done kids!

Happy Mother's Day

Haikal's drawing. Just after he came back from the class, he showed me this drawing and asked me, "What's inside the yellow box?" Hmm...

Anyway, the wish of "Happy Mother's Day" reminds me of my mother. Let me describe my mother in three words. My mother is...
1) Beautiful
2) Hardworking
3) Friendly

One day, if I'm blessed to have a daughter, I wish she would inherit my mother's beauty :-)

Always Think Positive

Someone told me that I'm the boss of my mind and I should give a clear instruction to my mind. If I want to be a good teacher, I should set the message in my mind and never change it. Then the body will take the appropriate action based on the instruction. If I change the instruction, the body will not be able to help me to achieve my dream.

Well, it does make sense.

The same person also told me that positive instruction will always attract positive idea in my life, and then, like a magnet, will lead me towards a person who can assist me in a positive way. And vice versa.

Ok, let's see what happen if we start our day with negative instruction...

Then we will get a negative idea...

which will let us meet a person who deliver negative news for us.
By the way, who told me all these? Dr. Niki Shuhada Shukor.

Illustration Friday- Hitched

Children copy what they see and love to re-present it in their own way. Well, looks like they are happy with the idea of getting hitched.

Illustration Friday- Jump

During my childhood days, we loved to play using the home-made skipping rope made from rubber band. A game that we called "zero-point" was our favourite.
